NH GOP & the Democratic Agenda

Well I certainly hope that the state pubbies are going to capitalize on the lunacy being passed by the Dems in Concord.

Despite the beating they took from voters six months ago, New Hampshire’s Republican leaders sound increasingly optimistic about their party’s chances of reversing last year’s Election Day losses.

Many Republicans point to the new Democratic-controlled Legislature in justifying their bullish outlook. They say much of the legislation championed by Democrats is at odds with popular opinion and will make it easy to portray them as out of touch and extremist.

“The Democratic excesses in the Legislature absolutely are energizing Republicans who may have been passive in the last election,” said Fergus Cullen, chairman of the New Hampshire Republican Party. “I hate to see these things being passed for policy reasons. But politically, these are opportunities for us to rebound in 2008. Democrats are putting us back in the game.”

Although I’m hoping for a revitalized, powerful state Republican party in 2008…I’m tempering that so I don’t get my hopes up too high. What do you think? Can the Republicans in NH rebound and dump the Democrats in 2008?
