Trout Season Underway in New Hampshire
Anglers can expect some really big trout — 15 inches long and weighing in at more than two pounds — to take their baits tomorrow when brook trout season opens on the state’s designated trout and fly-fishing-only ponds. Those large trout, surplus brood fish from the state’s fish hatcheries, were stocked late last fall in several ponds around the state. And they’re being augmented by nearly a million brook, rainbow and brown trout yearlings which are in the process of being stocked from the state’s hatcheries.
