Turkey Hunting: I Bought a Foam Turkey Target!
I went down to Wildlife Taxidermy in Manchester today. I bought some more tick repellant (you can never have too much of that stuff) and a bunch of other goodies.
I ended up buying one VERY cool thing: A foam turkey target! This thing looks like a real turkey pretty much and it’s an absolute blast to shoot with my bow!
It took me about three arrows but I was able to nail it in the head finally (my bow teacher Neil says that a head shot is the best if you can do it with a bow). I won’t be using my bow on a turkey until the fall but it’s great to have this thing to practice on. Gives me a lot more confidence that I can at least hit something that looks like a turkey…now if I could just find some real birds somewhere… ;)
Heh, heh. I had a good time with this sucker. Makes me want to buy a deer and coyote one too! :D
Note that it was PURE LUCK that I got it through his eyeball. I was aiming at the head but had not picked out the eyeball. Nevertheless, I was quite pleased that I nailed the eye anyway. :)
Too bad I didn’t get the eye shot on video but I did get another shot on if you want to watch it. Next time I turn the video on right away and hope for the best to see if I can catch a cool shot like that for the blog.

Egads we’ve created a monster. I don’t think I have ever seen someone come as far as you have in less than a year
Thanks Tim! :)
I’m having a very fun time. And I’m making progress…slowly…but relatively surely. :D
