Droput Age Raised to 18
Great, now they’ll have two more years of forced socialist indoctrination.
Now before anybody jumps down my throat about not caring about education, I do. But where is it written that the government knows best when it comes to kids and their parents making other choices?
Looking back at my own high school experience, I feel that the last two years were mostly a waste of time. At the very least, senior year certainly was a total waste of time. I would have gotten a GED and gotten the hell out at the earliest possible opportunity.
Government run schools are mostly just places to warehouse people. They do a very poor job of preparing kids for the future, particularly now that we’re living in a global economy. And, thanks to the wonderful teachers unions, the kids are forced to undergo socialist indoctrination throughout their education.
My advice to parents is to try to home school their children or consider a good private school if possible. Sometimes that’s just not realistic though and it’s truly unfortunate as 12 years of public school helps to insure that kids come out the other end as mindless, socialist drones.
Home schooling, private schools and self-education are better bets than the public school system. My condolences to the kids that will now be trapped in that hellish bureacracy for another two years of their lives. Hang in there.
