The Squirrels Are Winning

So I’m out bowhunting for squirrels today in my usual spot. Well I see my arch-nemesis, this big grey squirrel. I could not get close enough to him for a shot, curse him.

He’s a pretty smart squirrel and today he showed how much he’s been enjoying toying with me as he cut right across the path I was coming down and darted into the trees. No time for me to even try to get a shot at him with my bow.

Now I know some of you might think that bowhunting for squirrels is somewhat insane. Well it’s not and it’s actually a lot of fun. You really do have a bit of an extra challenge to try and get a shot off at one of them in the woods.

Sometimes I wish the wild squirrels were as stupid as the park squirrels. Then again they wouldn’t be fun to hunt if they were.

Aaaah well, the season isn’t over yet and I’m not giving up on getting that grey I saw today.
