REGISTRATION OPENS FOR WINTER BECOMING AN OUTDOORS-WOMAN WORKSHOP

CONCORD, N.H. — Registration has opened for the 2008 Winter Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (B.O.W.) workshop, a one-day program for women who want to learn winter outdoor skills.The sign-up period is January 7 through February 8, 2008.Register early, because the workshops fill up fast.Participants choose from topics such as ice-fishing, winter outdoor survival skills, basic snowshoeing and tracking, snowmobiling, and ‘Shoe and Shoot (snowshoeing and target shooting).The workshop is sponsored jointly by the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department and the New Hampshire Wildlife Federation.

A printable registration form and course descriptions are available at http://www.nhbow.com, or call(603) 271-3212 or email Lisa.M.Collins@wildlife.nh.gov to request an application by mail.The workshop costs $55, which includes a box lunch.Participants must be at least 18 years old.

The 2008 Winter B.O.W. workshop will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2008 (snow date February 24), at N.H. Fish and Game’s Owl Brook Hunter Education Center in Holderness, N.H.
