New Hampshire Democrats Raise Fees at State Parks

Well this is what you get when you elect Democrats to a majority in the legislature and you have a Democratic governor. If Lynch and his fellow Democrats are reelected in November, get used to this New Hampshire. This is the tip of the iceberg as far as spending and tax/fee increases go. Wake up, New Hampshire and dump these losers in November.

A legislative panel yesterday approved increases for day use, camping and historic sites. Day use rates for state parks will increase $1 a person to $4 for adults and $2 for children between ages 6 to 17. Camping rates generally will rise $5 a night.

At Hampton Beach and Wallis Sands state parks, vehicle fees will go up by $5 to $15 for cars, and go up $6 to $20 for recreational vehicles and buses. New Hampshire residents will pay only half the entry fee on Wednesdays, excluding holidays, at some spots.

The new fee schedule also exempts residents from fees into historic sites, allowing them in for free. Still, some Hampton Beach locals are not mollified.

Especially galling to some here is that parking at Hampton Beach also will cost more – $1.75 an hour, a quarter increase.

“With high gas prices, I think they should be rethinking this,” objected John Brock, a houseman at the Hampton House Hotel, as he eyed plumes of roaring surf. “It’s going to be hard enough for people to get here.”
