California Gay Marriage Ruling

I would have preferred that this happen via legislation. It’s never a good idea for it to be done through court rulings like this but that’s how it worked out so there it is.

Congratulations to those who are going to get married (and to the caterers and divorce lawyers who will make a fortune off gay weddings and divorces over the next few years).

I wonder if this will get the social conservatives out to vote this year. Most of them seem to hate McCain so I wonder if this will have any effect. Up until now gay marriage doesn’t seem to have been much of an issue as far as I could tell. That may change after this though.

We’ll see I guess.
