High Oil Prices? Thank the Democrats (and RINOs)

Good column over at Town Hall today about gas prices. Pass the URL around as there’s some good stuff there.

I know some socialist types that are cheering this on as they want to stick it to us SUV owners. They hate what we drive and they want it to cost as much as possible to force people to buy tiny cars. Well that’s fine but what about the people on fixed incomes who use oil to heat their homes? They are going to be screwed this winter as they may have to choose between eating and heat.

That doesn’t seem to phase the eco-phonies though. They are on an anti-human jihad and the higher oil prices go, the better they like it.

I don’t think anything is going to change until there is a political majority that favors lowering prices by increasing the supply of oil.

For the record, here’s what I think we should be doing:

1. Building nuclear power plants.

2. Increasing our oil supply by drilling in our own country including Alaska, off our coasts, etc.

3. Increasing our use of solar/wind/water whenever it’s feasible.

4. Improving car/truck technology to get the most MPG we possibly can.

5. Electric vehicles (wherever feasible).

Basically I think we should be doing everything we can to lower our energy costs. High energy costs are hurting our economy terribly and, while that serves certain people’s partisan or financial interests, it does also hurts many people.

I think the folks in the northern part of the state will almost definitely be hurt by these high gas prices. People might think twice before driving three or four hours to get up there for some vacation time. But that doesn’t matter to the socialist types that want to keep oil prices high. They have their agenda and damn whoever gets in the way of it.
