Primary Day 2008!
It’s time to get out and vote today, folks! I’m excited about it and will be headed down to the polling place soon.
Get out and vote! :)
Republicans hoping to break the Democratic domination of state offices are expected to outnumber Democrats going to the polls in today’s state primary elections. But overall, a low turnout is expected.
Secretary of State William Gardner has predicted 80,000 Republican ballots and 50,000 Democratic ballots will be cast. That would be a 15 percent turnout based on the most recent count of 863,542 registered voters in the state.
Hours for polling places in 11 of the state’s 13 cities are from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Polls in Manchester are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., and polls in Nashua are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Most towns’ polls are open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., although many towns, including Bedford, Goffstown, Auburn, Derry, Londonderry and Hooksett, have longer hours.
