And Here’s Why Massachusetts Sucks So Incredibly Much

And here’s why Taxachusetts has become such a miserable hell-hole to live in.

– A continuous veto-proof Democratic legislature where those in the middle class and those who run small businesses have no voice?

– Exorbitantly costly union-favorable prevailing wage laws, project labor agreements, responsible employer ordinances, costly three tier liquor industry, anarchistic item price regulations, outlawed independent contractor relationships that are legal elsewhere, treble damages for even inadvertent violations of labor and employment laws, overtime police details at routine construction sites, unfunded pensions and health care everyone in the private sector would kill for, etc., etc.? Not to mention the corruption dating to way before the days of Billy Bulger, disabled weightlifting firefighters and Diane Wilkerson. Think they are alone? Think again!

– Highest per-mile cost in the country toll road and Big Dig?

– Labor and all special interests having a permanent yes on Beacon Hill seemingly forever?

– Fourth highest in the nation combined income and real estate taxes?

– Ranked 49th of the states in job creation in 2007?

– Associated industries grade of “F” for business friendly legislation so far in 2008?

– Over 30 million in unfunded liabilities for pensions and health insurance for government employees and accrued infrastructure costs.

I could go on and on. And all of this over the last several years while Medicare/Medicaid costs have consumed 30+ percent of our budget with not any structural change to bring about any reform or cost savings.

Unfortunately getting rid of the income tax would only be the first step. A good one but only the first step into dismantling the corrupt political infrastructure that feeds off the blood of working class people.
