More About Rebuilding the GOP in New Hampshire

Ed Mosca has a blog entry up about this that is somewhat interesting.

As I said earlier, I think that the NH GOP needs to focus back in on fiscal accountability and it needs to leave the social issues that are championed at the national level by southern type conservatives behind. Running against civil unions and that sort of thing is not going to fly well in New Hampshire. It might work great in Georgia but not here as we don’t seem to have the same numbers of religious fundamentalists.

And the state GOP needs time to disentangle itself from the wreckage of the Bush administration. Yes, it’s unfair that good and decent state GOP politicians were smeared as being part of Bush’s problems but that’s how politics works sometimes. Bush will be gone in January but it’s going to take a while until he fades enough from the voters minds that the state GOP can regain some of its luster.
