The Effect of the Auto Industry Bailout On New Hampshire?

NPR has a report about the possible effect of a bailout or lack thereof on jobs in New Hampshire’s auto industry. Take it as you will as it comes from NPR.

My own feeling is that I would hate to see anybody lose their job but the detroit based automakers MUST restructure drastically or any kind of a bailout is just pissing away even more tax dollars. The unions have destroyed the ability of those companies to compete and something has to give.

Going through bankruptcy might be the best thing for these companies. Seriously. They need to restructure and they need to do it as quickly as possible. If the current economic situation does not motivate these companies to change how they do things then nothing will.
