Gas Prices in New Hampshire Lowest Since 2005

It’s nice to read a happy store like this:

It has been nearly four years since New Hampshire gas prices were as low as they have fallen in the last week.

According to the AAA Web site, the average cost of regular unleaded gasoline Tuesday in Manchester stands at $1.85 per gallon – a more than 50-percent drop from a few months ago. In the past month alone, the price has dropped nearly $1 per gallon.

Manchester’s highest-ever recorded average gas price was on July 15, a steep $4.02 per gallon for regular unleaded.

To fill a 20-gallon tank July 15 would have cost $80.40. On Nov. 24,

it would have cost $37. That’s a savings of $43.40.

I know that I have been enjoying the heck out of these low gas prices. Filling up my 23 gallon tank in my 4Runner has never been as sweet as it is right now. The $4-plus gas prices were horrendous and I hope we don’t end up going back to those but who knows.

Although I have no stats to prove it, I have to think that these gas prices will be very good for northern New Hampshire’s economy. I know that I have avoided going up there because gas was so expensive. With the skiing season pretty much here these gas prices are bound to help get skiiers  up into the north country and that’s good for everybody.

What’s the lowest amount you’ve paid at the pump recently? Mine was around $1.85. Post yours in the comments section.
