New Hampshire Hunting and Fishing Guides Association Banquet
Sounds like a good time for worthy causes:
Dec. 12 will be payback time for the state’s organized hunting and fishing guides.
In this case, that’s a good thing.
Our resident experts who concentrate on the hook-and-bullet sports are hoping the proceeds from their first annual banquet will build their association’s treasury, start a scholarship fund and leave enough for a large donation to charity. It’s their way of paying back something to the resource that lets them earn at least a part-time living.
If the fundraiser for the New Hampshire Guides’ Association (NHGA) resembles a Trout Unlimited (TU) conservation banquet, it’s no accident. Angus Boezeman, who has close ties to both organizations, chairs the banquet committee. He’s also the NHGA vice president.
Smart hunters and fishermen will pay for the $45 ticket and plan to arrive on time for the 6 p.m. cocktail hour.
The event will also feature two major raffles. Anglers will be interested in a Loomis fly rod outfit paired with a guided fishing trip. A lucky hunter’s ticket will be rewarded with a rifle and guided trip for bear or deer.
