New Hampshire Has Better Roads Than Massachusetts

I’m firmly in the camp that believes New Hampshire has WAY better roads than Taxachusetts:

Thousands of commuters make the trip between Massachusetts and New Hampshire each day, and many have the opinion that the Bay State’s roads are in better shape than New Hampshire’s. But is that the case?

Transportation officials in both states said they pretreat the roads ahead of storms and try to make sure the snow never gets packed down. But there are some differences.

Bill Boynton of the New Hampshire Department of Transportation said that managing 4,700 miles of state highway and 93 miles of turnpike is challenging.”People need to know you’re doing a certain route, and it may take an hour or more to complete,” Boynton said. “The roads are not going to be clear at all times.”Some drivers on Wednesday complained that the roads were in bad shape.”The roads are so rutty, and you’re afraid to change lanes,” said driver Doug Jones. “It backs up traffic. That’s how accidents happen. The cars are grouped so close together.”"In my opinion, Massachusetts is better,” said driver Melissa Laurencelle. “I live in Derry, and it seems to me, instead of plowing, they just salt, and you’re driving in a mess. It’s hard.”

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve driven on shitty Taxachusetts roads with nasty potholes all over the place. Not to mention how bad Taxachusetts is at plowing and maintaining roads in winter. I can’t see how anybody can make a legitimate argument that Taxachusetts has better roads.

What are these people smoking?
