Fun Day Kayaking Yesterday
I went to a lake in Peterborough yesterday with my friend Kevin. We had a fun time kayaking and swimming.
I didn’t have my camera with me so I didn’t get any photos. Sorry.
I have to admit that my pale, white geek skin is not used to being out in the sun. At one point we had gotten out of our kayaks and were sitting on a rock at the edge of the lake. I put my life jacket over my head to get a little shade. Heh. It was such a beautiful day with the mountains in the background and the trees all around the lake and the lake itself. We sat there for a while and just chilled.
There’s an eagle nesting area near the edge of the lake that is roped off by Fish and Game. It was cool to paddle to the outer part of the rope and see the eagle up in its nest. I’m glad Fish and Game has made an effort to have the nesting area undisturbed. I don’t think the eagle was bothered at all by us since we were still a good distance away from the nesting area. It’s great that people can still use the lake and the eagles are still able to nest there. An excellent example of cohabitation to say the least.
This isn’t an actual picture of the nest but I added it because it seemed necessary. Heh.
